Payment - Public Holidays And Absent Days

It is policy of this centre that all bookings are paid for as a position is booked specifically for your child - at times of attendance and absence.

If a child is absent due to a public holiday the parent is still obliged to pay the fee for the booking on this day, however this is an approved absence which does not affect your child care benefit.

If a child is absent due to illness, a doctor’s certificate may be obtained to avoid using your approved 42 absent days.

If a child is absent due to a Rostered Day Off, a letter may be obtained from your employer to avoid using your approved 42 absent days.

All children are provided with 42 days of allowable absences, in the event that these absences being used, absences will be charged at the centers daily rate. Allowable absences are absences due to holidays, public holidays, illness (without a doctor’s certificate) and RDO days.

For further details to the Family Assistants Office absence days’ schedule please refer to the Child Care Benefit Parent Handbook.

It is the policy of this centre that we will be closed for all Victorian and National public holidays. These include Australia Day, Labour Day, Easter Friday, Easter Monday, Queens Birthday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

All families are informed in advance in writing of Public Holiday closure day.
