It is the policy of this centre to provide a safe and hygienic procedure for changing nappies. We must ensure we provide a clean environment to prevent the spread of disease or infection. In addition, we aim to create an environment that encourages positive interaction between children and the carer during nappy changing procedure.

Potentially dangerous products are clearly labeled and stored in storage areas that are kept locked or are inaccessible to children. Children are not permitted in the kitchen or any other area that is not specified for children’s use. Please ensure that when you go into any non-play area, the door is securely closed.

Rationale: A balance of ultraviolet radiation (UV) exposure is important for health. Too much of the sun’s UV can cause sunburn, skin and eye damage and skin cancer. Sun exposure in the first ten years of life is a major factor in determining future skin cancer risk. Too little UV from the sun can lead to low vitamin D levels and Vitamin D is essential for healthy bones and muscles as well as general health.
